LITTLE FREE LIBRARY


When I see books in my home bookshelf I feel that they are least utilized as I hadn’t picked them up for many years after my first or second read and they can be given to ones who need them. We have a large community of such readers who are regular donors and wished if they join the movement to make books available and accessible to all.


Little free library Thane is inspired by that thought that “Somewhere there is a kid who is reading a book from our library”. Library is open all the time. “Take a book and share a book”, but yes you can always take a book. 


                                                   


 “After nourishment, shelter and companionship, stories are the things we need most in the world.” Books and Stories, a powerful combination, and I truly believe there exist books which can inspire and help someone realize his or her Dreams and Life Goals.  Books have magical powers and have transformational qualities. Moreover, it can take you through such an amazing journey to wonderlands. 

Time is changing and children of today are more listed towards exploring electronic gazettes than reading books. Also there is section of society where kids are devoid of books for basic education. Societies are not doing enough to encourage young readers. Covid has further changed the society where buying books became a luxury. For quite a time I had been introspecting about how I can be a change agent, a catalyst who can make a small change in the community where kids select books over the mobile phone. Each needy kid gets a book to read and I believed that we can build a community of inspiring readers by expanding book access for all. This library is also in the memory of my Nana Nani who I lost in this year Covid, they were a true book lover and my inspiration.

                                                        
                                                      

OUR MISSION: is to be a catalyst for building community, inspiring readers, and expanding book access for all through a global network of volunteer-led Little Free Libraries.

OUR VISION:    is a Little Free Library in every community and a book for every reader. We believe all people are empowered when the opportunity to discover a personally relevant book to read is not limited by time, space, or privilege.


Visit our small library and let your little one pick up a book from the bookshelf. And later share it back for other to read or share other books too.

  PEBBLE TRANSFORMATION A rock, a large piece of rock weathers off a cliff and dives deep into a pool of gushing water. Back washed, It journeys roughly and knocks of other rocks, smashing through the waves as it loses itself in scattered pieces except for its core. MOTHER TERESA   Mother Teresa (1910–1997) was a Roman Catholic nun who devoted her life to serving the poor and destitute around the world. She spent many years in Calcutta, India where she founded the Missionaries of Charity, a religious congregation devoted to helping those in great need.
